Famed for his plush, sweeping loads for films including Braveheart, Phoebus 13, and Titanic, the fertile composer James Horner was born in Los Angeles on August 14, 1953. Educated at London's Royal College of Music as well as local universities USC and UCLA, he landed his number one motion painting assignments during the 1970s, marking B-movies like The Lady in Red, Humanoids of the Deep, and Engagement Beyond the Stars for producer Roger Corman's New World organisation. By 1982, Horner had touched on to major studio fare including 48 Hrs. and Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, and four years later he jagged his first Academy Award nominations for his score to the science fabrication definitive Aliens as good as for the song "Somewhere Out There," from the animated mental picture An American Tail. In 1989, Horner earned a second base Oscar nominating speech for his score to Field of Dreams, that same year winning a Grammy for his work on the Civil War drama Aura; in 1995 he was honored with two more than Academy Award noms, for Braveheart and Apollo 13. Horner in conclusion smitten Oscar gold in 1997, pickings place statuettes for his mark to the blockbuster Titanic as comfortably as the film's original song "My Heart Will Go On," a hit for Celine Dion. After writing stacks for movies like Commando and New World, Film Music Masterworks: Original Soundtracks, which contained pieces from some of Horner's best-known work (Phoebus 13, Braveheart, Willow, and of line, Titanic, among others), was issued in 2006.

Paul McCartney to Host 'Virtual Dinner Party' For Charity
Music legend Sir Paul McCartney is set to host a virtual dinner party where guests will get an exclusive new song to download.
Fans of the former Beatle are being invited to log on to Paul's website, Paulmccartney.com, on June 5; and register as guests for the event.
Those who donate $25 to the Adopt-a-Minefield campaign will be able to download a new song, 'Lifelong Passion (Sail Away)'.
Exclusive recipes by British TV chef Jamie Oliver will also be available on the site. The event is being organized to raise money and awareness for the Adopt-A-Minefield charity.
The charity raises funds in support of the United Nations effort to remove and raise awareness of landmines around the world.
